      Update Time:2018-10-30 10:40 Department:Ziguan District Office

Kaohsiung News] "It’s fantastic!" The Kaohsiung City Transportation Bureau has adjusted the weekday peak and off-peak schedules of 15 main bus lines to reduce wait time and improve the service quality of the main bus lines for its citizens. Those lines will now have buses every 10-15 minutes at peak hours, and every 20-25 minutes at off-peak hours. It is expected that all main bus line schedules will be adjusted by the end of August 2018.
Currently, Kaohsiung City has the following 15 main bus lines: #50 Wufu Main Line, #60 Juemin-Science and Technology Museum Main Line, #70 Sanduo Main Line, #88 Jianguo Main Line, #90 Minzu Main Line, #92 Ziyou Main Line, #205 Zhonghua Main Line, #217 Xinchang Main Line, #168 East Circle Bus Line, #168 West Circle Bus Line, R10 Wujia Main Line, R18 Yixin Main Line, R30 Jiangong Main Line, R33 Mingcheng Main Line, and O12 Fengqing Main Line. The Transportation Bureau stated that it has already begun coordinating with public transport system operators to reduce weekday peak time bus schedule from intervals of more than 20 minutes to 10-15 minute intervals, and off-peak time bus schedule from intervals of more than 30 minutes to 20-25 minute intervals. This will shorten wait times and make faster, more convenient public transportation services for riders.
The Transportation Bureau also stated that it carried out a bus schedule interval examination of the 15 main bus lines. Except #60 Juemin-Science and Technology Museum Main Line, O12 Fengqing Main Line, and R18 Yixin Main Line, some of the other 12 lines were found to have excessively long schedule interval. Bus schedule review was then conducted to bring the public even better service quality. The public transport system operators examined the public rider traffic volume and characteristics of the relevant main bus lines, and has subsequently adjusted the weekday schedules of eight main lines, namely the #70 Sanduo Main Line, #88 Jianguo Main Line, #90 Minzu Main Line, #92 Ziyou Main Line, #205 Zhonghua Main Line, R10 Wujia Main Line, R30 Jiangong Main Line, and R33 Mingcheng Main Line. The remaining four bus lines – #50 Wufu Main Line, #217 Xinchang Main Line, #168 East Circle Bus Line, and #168 West Circle Bus Line – are expected to have adjusted schedules by the end of August 2018. For more details on the adjusted bus schedules you can contact the individual bus operators or check the Transportation Bureau's official website (https://www.tbkc.gov.tw/Service/PublicTransport/BusRoute).
The Transportation Bureau reminds riders using electronic stored value cards that they can continue to enjoy the fantastic discount offers of unlimited two-bus types in one day passes, highway bus prices having a maximum of NT$60, low bus-to-subway transfers of NT$3, monthly bus passes for only NT$479 (NT$399 for students), as well as the summer break offer of free rides for Kaohsiung City Child iPass Card holders.
